soap and glory do make up!

Not long ago my favourite 'drug store' brand Soap and Glory launched their first ever make up range and I've been sent a few pieces to try out. Usually famed for their bubble baths and skincare products creating a make up line was something completely new for the brand but the fact Soap and Glory are a fave brand for most of us the idea of inexpensive make up products by them is a guaranteed success. I'd compare the range as similar to Benefit but at much cheaper prices.

Trick and treatment dark circle corrector - £9.00

Having an olive toned complexion I get the most annoying dark under eye circles that I feel the need to cover up on a daily basis but equally I hate the feeling of having a thick concealer under my eyes. This concealer works well for me as it feels light on my skin and has a subtle shimmer pigment to reflect light from your under eye circles. It won't give your make up an airbrushed effect or barbie looking skin but is worth buying if you don't like heavy make up, just don't expect miracles.

Solar powder multi shade bronzer - £11.00

If any of you have tried the '10' bronzer by Benefit this is basically the half price version. I'd probably describe it as more of a highlighter than bronzer as it isn't very pigmented but still creates a lovely glow on the skin. Definitely worth looking at to boost your complexion in this dull wintry weather.

Smoulder Kohl waterproof eyeliner - £5.00

Finally my favourite out of the bunch, I'm not a great fan of pencil liner usually as I find it smudges too easily and I end up resembling a panda, however I've been really impressed with this one. Because it's waterproof it literally doesn't budge all day but it initially applies really well as the pencil is so soft. It's by far the best pencil eyeliner I've ever tried and even comes with a sharpener built in the lid, and the fact it's so cheap is a massive bonus.

The Soap and Glory make up range is available in Boots stores or online (currently on 3 for 2).

pre-release review: nars blush/bronzer trio

Hi dolls, just a quick post on the new 'Orgasm, Albatross, Laguna Blush/Bronzer Trio' today. It will be available along with some other great limited edition pieces in May. I love the packaging, the design reminds me of a tiny clutch, has a zip to open and a large mirror inside. It's perfect for when you are on the go as you get blush, bronzer and highlighter in one handy compact. All of the shades included happen to be my three favourite cheek products by Nars so I definitely recommend getting hold of one. I reckon it will be a really popular product and as it's limited edition start saving your pennies now. It also makes a great purchase if you have yet to try the three shades. The compact costs £39 but it's a unique item by Nars and as you get 15g of product that compares almost the same as gram per pound as a Mac blusher!

''Three iconic NARS products, one portable zip-around compact. With Orgasm Blush, Albatross Highlighting Powder and Laguna Bronzing Powder, this limited-edition trio makes a flawless complexion more attainable than ever.''

nars laguna illuminator

Lately I've been loving the fake tanned and beautifully bronzed look. With summer around the corner I figured it was time to ditch the pale foundation and go for a sun kissed complexion. I know that a lot of people avoid highlighters or any cheek products with shimmer in fear of looking like a disco ball or don't like the look of a silver/cool toned highlight, which is why this warm toned bronzer is the perfect option. I still like to use a powder bronzer underneath as a contour but this adds just the right amount of shimmer to make my skin look beautifully dewy as if I have caught the sun. The great thing about the product is that you only need a tiny amount so I'm hopeful that the tube will last quite a while. There is no doubt that it's a pricey purchase but I reckon it's a must for summer.

Price: £21.50 available on the Nars website

benefit '10'

So I finally caved into buying benefit '10' bronzer and highlight duo. I am far from short of bronzers and highlighters but for some reason they both seem to be the things that I can't stop buying at the moment. I can't even begin to justify £23.50 on a cheek product, I frankly think it's ridiculous, but for some reason it didn't stop me from handing over the cash. The only thing that I can say in it's defense is that the benefit bronzer/blushers do tend to last about four years or more in my experience. This product gives the loveliest combo of bronze and blush that just works right to give a gorgeous glow to the cheeks. The product itself is also very soft, pigmented and blends easily onto the cheeks. I will do some pictures with it on my face so you can see a bit more clearly soon, but for now swatches will have to do. The compact also comes with a really soft which I usually chuck but will be using this time as I don't want to blend the two colours together.

You can buy benefit '10' compact on their website, here.
