purple dotted nails

MODELS OWN PURPLE GREY & UTOPIA | ILLAMASQUA JAN | L'OREAL FLASHING LILAC | DOTTING TOOL

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will probably be well aware by now that I'm a huge fan of dotted nail art, I bought some dotting tools from ebay about a year ago now and have created tons of looks with them since. This time I decided to go for a purple shade range and applied lots of random little dots at the base of my nails, I wanted the dots to have a messy looking effect so didn't make an effort to keep it looking neat which meant they were even easier to do than usual. I used a sheer nude pink colour for the base as I wanted the natural nail to show through slightly which I think looks more effortless and chic. I'm going to try this out with blue colours next time which will look beautiful with a tan in summer!

unite luxury hair products

I've been trying out some new haircare products for the last week or so and couldn't wait to post about them as they are simply amazing. I typically have very frizzy, dry hair and struggle endlessly to find products to give me that 'salon finish' at home, I've tried all sorts of oils, masques and treatments to combat frizz. That was until I tried out these Unite Luxury haircare products and fell completely in love with them. The shampoo is super thick so you only need to use a small amount to create a foamy lather, at first my hair was left feeling rather dry until I used the conditioner which created silky feeling hair within a matter of minutes. It seems that the shampoo works to strip all product build up whilst the conditioner fights frizz and creates the most beautiful silky soft, shiny hair ever. I then give my hair a good spritz of the leave-in conditioner spray whilst it's still damp and blow dry as normal without using any other products. I couldn't be more pleased with how well the products are working on my hair, I'm going to cut down to use them just for a treat once a week as they are eye-wateringly expensive, but I've truly never found any products to work so well on my hair before.

chanel spring 2014 collection

Nothing says 'bring on the spring' like a newly launched Chanel make-up collection. We might all still be stuck in the gloominess of February but by no means is that an excuse to be stuck with dull shades of make-up too.

The creme blush in '67 chamade' (£27) may look daunting at first but used lightly it creates the most beautiful natural looking pop of colour on the cheekbones that lasts all day long. I'm in love with nude nails at the moment and have found the ballerina nail colour (£18) to be the ultimate nude-pink nail polish shade, it's very sheer so needs a good three/four coats to build up a good coverage depending on if you want just a delicate light pink shade or a more milky nude colour. I used the illusion d'ombre shadow  in '93 impulsion (£24) to create a super sparkly glittery effect all over my lid, it's a cream shadow so is super easy to blend and apply but get rid of the brush as it's useless. I'd never have normally picked up a pink eyeshadow but I'm so pleased with how well the colour goes with my green eyes, and I'm a huge fan of glitter on the eyes so it gets a big thumbs up from me. Last but not least, the lipgloss in '179 murmere' (£21), this simply creates a beautiful peach sheen on the lips without feeling too sticky.

The shades all come to together to create a glowing, natural everyday look, as much as I love a bright lip and bold eyes these products have completely converted me to using my cheeks for colour and leaving the rest of my make-up looking as natural as possible.

soap and glory skincare

YOU WON'T BELIEVE YOUR EYES: I'm admittedly a skincare snob and when it comes down to eye cream I somehow have it imprinted on my brain that price equals quality, and therefore this is the first budget one that I've tried. I wasn't expecting great things and thought the rollerballs that massage the product onto your eye area may be just a gimmick, but upon application I was suitably impressed with how soothing it felt massaging the product in using the rollerball applicator. Afterwards I could definitely notice that my whole eye area seemed brighter and much more awake, I still prefer to use a thicker eye cream at night but find this the perfect option to brighten my under-eye circles in the morning and not weigh my skin down with excess product.

THE GREATEST SCRUB OF ALL: This face scrub has tiny exfoliating beads in that delicately buff away at dead skin cells without feeling too abrasive on the skin. It does all the work for you so that you aren't stood in the shower for ages scrubbing away at your skin, and once you hop out you notice a much more bright and radiant complexion. It's definitely one of the best scrubs that I've tried when it comes down to polishing the skin and getting rid of dullness.

BEAUTY SLEEP ACCELERATOR: This is my pick of the Soap and Glory skincare crop thus far, it's a thick overnight cream that doesn't feel at all cloggy on the skin and simply gives the skin a dewy light coating. I have super dry skin so this is an absolute miracle worker for me and feels so soothing just before going to bed, I always know when I put this on at night that I'm going to wake up to soft, plump skin. I will without a doubt be repurchasing this once I run out!

THE FAB PORE FACIAL MASK: Face masks are my favourite part of my skincare routine, I'm a complete addict to running a warm bubbly bath and laying with a face mask on for more time than I probably should. If any of you are familiar with the 'scrub your nose in it' face scrub then this is pretty much the big sister product to that, it's just slightly thicker and a little more hardworking, meaning that you use it less often. It left my skin feeling very dry at first but I didn't find it to be a problem as it just meant that my moisturiser soaked in much more than usual, and my skin was left feeling squeaky clean as a result.

All of the products mentioned above are currently 1/3 off at Boots, time to do some skincare shopping!
