make up routine video!

hope you enjoy my new video!

sephora shopping

Whilst I was in Paris a few weeks ago I couldn't resist a little trip to Sephora as I've been craving visiting the store for years and as we don't have any in England it was the perfect opportunity to do some make up shopping. Make Up For Ever was the main attraction for me as it's notoriously hard to get hold of in the UK, I was a little disappointed though at the lack of stock of MUFE in the store itself though most of their popular products were sold out however I did still manage to pick up two of their most raved about products, the HD foundation and powder. I've been using them both since my trip and can confirm that they both definitely deserve the praise that they receive among the beauty community. My other favourite item that I picked up was a blending brush which is absolutely amazing at buffing liquid foundation into the skin, better than any other brush that I've ever tried and most importantly doesn't shed hairs like Mac brushes. If you are near a Sephora at any point you simply have to pick up this brush, it's definitely a god send. I also picked up a few unique shades of nail polish, some Mac lashes and a facial brush to use with cream cleanser and exfoliator. Overall I'm really happy with everything that I picked up!

Make Up Forever High Definition Foundation - 34.90/£27.48
Make Up Forever High Definition Powder - 27.90/£21.97

Sephora Nail Polishes - 4.90/£3.86 each

 Sephora Facial Brush - 5.00/£3.94
Sephora Foundation Brush - 17.40/£13.69
Mac 136 False Lashes - 12.00/£9.45

blogger buttons on star violet beauty

Hi lovelies, I'm going to start up advertising again open to bloggers. I'm going to call these little adverts 'blogger buttons' and they will all appear in the right sidebar of my site. I know from when I first started up my blog how difficult and almost impossible at times it can be to get your blog known about and how frustrating it can be so hopefully this idea will help some of you out. Also don't worry if you haven't already made a button for your blog, just send me over your blog header and I can make one for you.

I will also be adding a list with simple text links to blogs on my sidebar which you can buy a space on, it will look like this:

www.example.blogspot.com
www.example.blogspot.com
www.blogger.blogspot.com
www.example.com

Now all of that boring technical stuff is out of the way, just click the link below to purchase a space.

french pharmacy shopping

For those of you that don't already know I have spent the last few days in Paris celebrating my birthday, you can see my posts on my personal blog here. I did some research before I went away (via Lisa Eldridge and other blogs) on what would be the best skincare items to pick up and which pharmacy to go to. Having all of this in mind and even being so planned as to have pictures of what I wanted to pick up all ready on my iPhone I ventured into City Pharma which is literally a skincare paradise. The store has shelves stacked to the brim with multi-packs of products and nearly everything is on offer, I noticed that everything was roughly 25% cheaper than most other french pharmacies also. For this reason it became quite apparent that the pharmacy was almost a mini tourist attraction with barely any space to move for women all after a bargain. I can't say that this put me off as it was all part of the experience however it is definitely essential that you know what you want to purchase before you enter the shop otherwise you may get lost in a daze with the sea of products surrounding you. There are plenty of assistants on hand though in case you need any expert advice.

If you are ever in Paris then I can't recommend taking a trip to City Pharma enough, if you are a first timer at french skincare or know exactly what you are after the fact everything is such good value is reason enough to go along.

City Pharma, Saint Germain des PrĂ©s, Paris 75006

current make-up #10

lipstick - Mac 'Costa Chic'
foundation - Estee Lauder Lucidity
cheeks - Sleek 'Glo' palette in 'Peach Shimmer'

I'm going to start doing regular posts on what make up look I'm currently wearing, so here is post number one! I went with a frosty coral lip and thick lashes paired with a peach shimmery highlighter and left my hair completely natural, I literally just got out of bed and used a bit of hair serum. Head over to my fashion blog to see the outfit post on what I'm wearing.
