lush mrs. whippy bath ballistic

As a few of you may know, Lush have recently released four new bath ballistics. I have already bought them all and have reviews coming up, today's review is on..

Mrs. Whippy Bath Ballistic

I'm sure that you all remember the happy tune of the ice cream van coming down your road as a kid. I always used to rush round the house trying to find the right change before it drove off and then when I handed over the money to the ice cream man I would rightfully ask for every kind of sprinkles and syrup that they had on offer. Every time I look at the new 'Mrs. Whippy' bath ballistic by Lush it brings the memories flooding back, as it looks like the top of a 99p ice cream with bright pink sprinkles. It smells gorgeous and how I can best describe as a milky/creamy vanilla scent, just like ice cream!

It lathers rather than fizzes, and slowly releases the softest, silkiest creamy bubbles I have ever experienced from one of Lush's bath products. The bubbles are so fine that they feel so luxurious and soft on the skin. The bath bomb also has small grains of body butter, like butterball. After it has been fizzing away for a little while it reveals a bright pink center.

Mrs. Whippy bath ballistic costs only £2.50 and it's worth every penny for a really relaxing bath and super soft skin after.

xen-tan reviews

The other day I finally got round to buying myself some Xen-Tan. They had an offer on where you got a free full sized Body Scrub and a 30ml sample of the Deep Bronze Luxe lotion, so I was obviously very pleased.

I am sure most of you have heard about it and seen tons of blog posts raving about how good it is, so I thought I would give it a try and review it for you all. I have been using fake tan for a few years now, I have tried spray tan at the salon, mousse tans, gradual tans, wash off tans, the lot! I have mainly been using St Moriz and St Tropez mousse for the past few months, both left my skin slightly patchy and streaky. It also has the most natural tan colour that I have ever tried, and generally just looks like you have spent two weeks in the Caribbean, without a hint of being tangoed.

Body Scrub Exfoliating Wash

I was worried at first when I saw that this smelt of mint that I would end up smelling like a packet of extra chewing gum. However, I can happily report that there is no whiff of that sickly chewing gum and it smells more of a minty spa smell, if you know what I mean. It has just the right amount of beads in to buff off dead skin cells and the end of a fake tan without being too rough on the skin. I kid you not, my skin felt as soft as a baby's bum when I stepped out out the shower.

Dark Lotion Weekly Self-Tan

I applied the Xen-Tan Dark Lotion a few hours ago, and already I have the most gorgeous, streak free, almond smelling tan. So many people have said how amazing this fake tan is, and I always thought to myself, well how amazing can a fake tan be for god sakes? Well, now I know! I buff the tan into my skin using my fingers, in circular motions. It sinks straight into the skin and you can instantly feel that your skin is so much softer. It is unlike any other fake tan that I have used, simply because it is so fool proof. The self tan, as I said before, smells so yummy, like a mixture of almonds and vanilla. But don't worry, it in no way smells sickly and only gives your skin a light fragrance.

Face Tanner Luxe

This works in similar ways as the Dark Lotion body tan, but is more ideal for using on the face if you have sensitive skin. I used to use the same self-tan on my face as on my body, but soon came to realise that it was clogging my pores and didn't give a very natural look. However, using the Xen-Tan Face Tanner Luxe gives a gorgeous natural glow to my face and nourishes my skin at the same time.

My tan still looks perfect, streak free, and has faded in a very dignified and patch free way. Throughout the whole process I couldn't smell a trace of that horrible famous 'fake tan smell', and the vanilla/almond smell faded after application. I will definitely be repurchasing this fake tan, and can't think of any reasons to stop using it, it is most definitely the best fake tan that I have ever tried! I will also be re-purchasing the body scrub when mine runs out. I would even go as far as to say this is now my new 'holy grail' fake tan!

For a dark tan, I would recommend re-applying every 4-5 days, or if you just like a glow to your skin then apply a thin layer every week.

Overall rating for all the products - 8/10

You can purchase Xen-Tan quickly and easily over the internet, or read more about the products on the Xen-Tan website here.

my 'holy grail' brow product..

Forget eyebrow pencils, eyeshadow for the brows, and spending ages trying to get perfectly defined eyebrows. Forget it! Bobbi Brown has come up with the most genius product that I have ever tried for the brows. I often get quite a lot of comments on my brows, and they are something that I take fairly seriously and I pluck them to perfection most nights. Enough about plucking & waxing for now, I will cover all of my brow grooming routines and habits in another post. So, when I saw goss make up artist saying how great Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper was, on youtube, I had to give it a go! I used to spend quite a while in the mornings using a dark powder eyeshadow through my eyebrows to make them look thick and defined. I was relived when I first tried the Natural Brow Shaper, as it takes so many minutes off my brow routine. All you have to do is literally swipe the mascara style brush loaded with a dark cream product through my brows, and after about 5 seconds on each brow, they would look thick and in place. It lasts all day and does not go crusty on the eyebrow hairs at all! It is my holy grail product for the brows and I couldn't recommend it enough. Anyone that is still bothering to use a powder eyeshadow through the brows or an eyebrow pencil really should check it out, it is the most fool proof and easy to use product ever.

I sweep the brush through my eyebrows and shape the part at the front of my eyebrow slightly upwards. If you are worried about having thin and sparse eyebrows, just push the hairs up with the wand and then lightly shape back. I use the shade 'dark brown' which is perfect for my complexion and hair colour. Mine has already lasted me 6 months and still works fine, if not better, as the product has dried up a little, making it easier to use. The Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper costs just £13.00 and you can purchase it from the Bobbi Brown website or at a Bobbi Brown counter near you.

summery french plaits

I'm not sure if any of you have ever tried to do french side plaits before, but they are the hardest thing to do ever! I think I slightly managed the Lauren Conrad style plait and then just tried to do a separate side french plait and pinned the fringe plait with a flower so it looked like they merged together.  I'm pretty sure this isn't how french side plaits are meant to look, but I like how it turned out neverthelesss. It is obviously perfect for summer or on the beach to keep all of your hair out of your face.
