holographic glitter nails

I was recently sent some little pots of nail glitters to have a play with and had a go with them the other night. I applied a topcoat straight onto my nails and then dipped my fingernails into the glitter pot, one at a time and brushed off the excess glitter from the skin around my nail with an eyeshadow brush and applied a topcoat over that to seal the effect. It really was that easy, and took less time than doing a regular manicure. I used the silver holographic glitter and found that it lasted a few days but I'm sure that used with a stronger topcoat like seche vite the look would last even longer. The site that sent me the glitter literally do every shade of glitter that you can imagine at £8.99 for 11g which is great value, but you can also get 3.5g pots for just £3.49.

superdrug summer event

Yesterday while I was having a day out in London I popped along to the Superdrug Summer press event. I know that Summer still seems a long way away but with the beautiful weather we had yesterday the event felt rather apt, even though it's still February! The room was filled with brightly coloured products that are yet to even be released so it was great to get a sneaky peek of what to expect beauty wise this Summer. My favourite products that I spotted had to be the Look Nail Pop varnishes which came in so many great colours, my Mum who came along with me (as I'd dragged her to come shopping with me in London that day) had a cheeky manicure done with a dirty grey shade which I loved. I also bumped into Laura from belles-boutique.blogspot.com and Kaushal from beauty-fulfilled.com who are both lovely girls and have fab blogs so check them out if you don't follow already.

valentine's day perfumes

For him
Viktor & Rolf's Spicebomb

After the success of Flowerbomb, Viktor & Rolf have tried their hand at a male fragrance that is Spicebomb. I'm a big fan of this and expect it will shake up the male fragrance market due to the unique scent.

Spicebomb offers a highly addictive explosion of spices, built on a balmy, woody vetiver trail. Based around strong olfactory contrasts and presented in a luxurious yet muscular grenade-shaped bottle, this brand new fragrance is simultaneously both rough and refined.
Key notes: spice, vetiver and wood

Available from the Harrods website and in store:
EDT 50ml - £45
EDT 90ml - £60
For her - night time fragrance
Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum

This has been my favourite perfume for about six months now, it's versatile enough for both daytime and evening wear and is definitely worth having a try of. It reminds me of another one of my favourites which is Agent Provocateur.

'Created by the label’s founder, Tamara Mellon, the debut Jimmy Choo fragrance is a sexy, sensual blend of captivating woods and a rich chypre note. Developed with empowered, confident women in mind, this scent channels the hedonistic appeal of a pair of vertiginous Choo heels.'
Woody, chypre scent
Available from the Harrods website and in store:
EDT 40ml - £34
EDP 100ml - £68
For her - daytime fragrance
Miss Dior Eau Fraiche

Launched just today is the new Miss Dior Eau Fraiche perfume by Dior. It's pretty much Spring in a bottle, with the fresh and uplifting notes. For a beautiful daytime perfume that smells as fresh as clean sheets it's my go to option.

'A crisp scented veil of Chypre notes. L' Eau becomes Eau Fraîche, and thus joins the Chypre family. Now graced with the signature Chypre ingredient of Patchouli, this Eau Fraîche creates a new atmosphere, in which lightness and elegance are blended together. By associating Calabrian Bergamot and vibrant Gardenia with a fresh and luminous Patchouli, François Demachy took up a veritable scent challenge. He has created a sunny yet lingering fresh, floral, fragrance'

Available from the Harrods website and in store:
EDT 50ml £ 49
EDT 100ml £ 68

nars albatross highlighter

For about a year now my favourite highlighter has by far been Nars Albatross as I get compliments on how glowing my skin looks pretty much every time that I wear it. The shade is a creamy white with gold shimmer that is barely noticeable but looks beautiful when the light hits it. It's my go to product when my skin is looking a bit dull as it makes it look instantly radiant with the sweep of a brush, I apply it just above my bronzer on my cheekbones and a little down my nose and also on my eyebrow bone. It's slightly on the expensive side, but so is everything these days, and it will last you at least a couple of years. I can definitely say that it will become a staple in your make up bag!

brighton rock

Hi everyonee, just a quick post on another of my fave lippies at the moment which is Brighton Rock by Topshop make up. The shade is a bright coral pink and looks even better in person but goes perfect for anyone that has dark hair. For some annoying reason Topshop don't sell this shade online any more which is beyond frustrating as it's one of my all time faves. I've heard they are still selling them in some stores so I'm not sure if it's being discontinued or not.

Let me know what your fave bright lipsticks are! - Topshop brighton rock lipstick - £8
